The North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Music issues the directive for students to Perform Music.  This refers to presenting or demonstrating, formally or informally, the process that calls upon the technical, expressive, and interpretive skills of the learner.  Aside from our traditional Winter and Spring Concerts, our choirs have the opportunity each year to travel to sing in some of the world’s great performing halls and work with and be adjudicated by some of the world’s greatest choral musicians. 

This is our great privilege, and allows singers at Grimsley to see what is possible in the wider world of the performing arts and choral music in particular.  Recent tours have included France and Italy, England, San Francisco, New York, and Washington, D.C.  On these tours choirs have performed in revered venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, National Cathedral, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Saint Bartholomew’s Church, and the Mission Dolores Basilica.
