Singers at Grimsley High School have a wide variety of choices and opportunities in the vocal arts.  We offer three ensembles as classes:  Our premier performing ensemble, the Madrigal Singers, have been delighting audiences around the globe for over 40 years.  Our Concert Choir, known as the Grimsley Choir, and our Women’s’ Choir, are both building and growing into wonderful performing ensembles in their own right.  In 2006 a new men’s group called The King’s Men was formed, and in 2007 we have a new select women’s group.  Each of these two groups meets after school and is auditioned.

Singers from all choirs have the opportunity to sing concerts at school and in the community.  All students are eligible to audition for opportunities such as NCMEA Honor’s Choir, ACDA Honor’s Choir, NCMEA Large Ensemble, Small Ensemble and Solo Festivals, All-County Chorus, All-State Chorus, and The North Carolina Summer Institute in Choral Art.  All vocal Music students have the opportunity to travel each year with their respective ensemble.  In the past few years we have sung in San Francisco, New York, Myrtle Beach, England, France, Italy, Washington, D.C., Biltmore House.

Grimsley High School is a great place for singers and performers.  Many of our graduates have gone on to great careers in the performing arts.  Many more have found a lifelong love of singing and an appreciation for all that the arts do to enrich our lives.  Whether you want a future in music or you just want to have a great time, GHSVM is the place for you!
